Window-film specs in plain English

Shade

How light or dark?

A lower shade percentage generally looks darker. Your factory glass also affects the finished appearance, so we recommend viewing real samples.

IR

Infrared comfort

Infrared rejection describes how strongly a film targets infrared energy associated with the heat you feel through the glass. Advanced films can perform well in lighter shades.

UV

UVA and UVB context

UV is the broader category containing UVA and UVB. Qualified films publish 99% or greater UV protection in their specified test range; separate UVA/UVB claims vary by manufacturer.

You do not need to decode a laboratory chart. Tell us whether your priority is maximum comfort, privacy, a factory-like appearance, or value. We’ll narrow the choices and explain the real-world tradeoffs.

Built around your priorities

What professional tint can improve

Cabin comfort

Reduce solar load and the sharp feeling of sunlight through automotive glass.

UV protection

Qualified films reject 99% or more of specified UV wavelengths, helping protect occupants and interior materials.

Glare and privacy

Choose a shade that supports visual comfort and the appearance you want while respecting applicable law.

Window tint FAQs

Before you book

Which film rejects the most heat?

The answer depends on the exact film, shade, glass, and test metric. Premium ceramic and multilayer films generally lead, but we compare TSER on a common glass basis whenever official data permits.

Does tint need to be dark to work?

No. Modern ceramic and multilayer films can provide meaningful solar and UV performance at lighter VLT levels.

How long does installation take?

Timing varies by vehicle, glass condition, removal needs, and coverage. We’ll provide an estimate when scheduling.

Is there a warranty?

Available films carry manufacturer warranty coverage, often limited lifetime coverage for qualifying automotive installations. Exact terms vary by brand and series.

Can you tint factory privacy glass?

Yes in many cases. Privacy glass primarily darkens glass; adding the right film can increase solar and UV performance. Final visible light transmission depends on the combined glass-and-film system.
